StagWeb Go To Leeds

by

Why would we guess whether a city’s great for a stag do when we could deploy our StagWeb team to test it and report back?

Without delay, we sent Steph and Vicki, StagWeb’s seasoned party specialists, to Leeds to gather some crucial intel.

After a weekend of undercover research, this is the debrief we got on a Leeds stag do

Things You Need to Know…

  • Call Lane is one of the city’s biggest party streets
  • Merrion Street is great for alternative bars and eateries
  • Trinity Kitchen is where to go for the best street food

Getting There🚆

  • Train – Leeds Train Station is situated on New Station Street, to the south of the main square, giving you prime access to the heart of the city.
  • Car – The M621 runs very close by, making it very easy to drive into the city from across the country. There are also three Park & Ride sites where you can leave your stag mobiles for the weekend.

TOP TIP:  Leeds is large and driving in the city centre can be chaotic, so please allow plenty of time to get to your destination. Parking in the centre can be expensive, too, so it’s better to either share a car or get the train.

What Were Your First Impressions?👀

leeds

What an incredible place!

“There is a cracking bar open on pretty much every corner ready to welcome you for a drink!

“It is a massive city so be prepared to organise another trip back to finish checking out the nightlife.”

What Was Your Accommodation?🏡

“We stayed in Roomzzz Leeds City West for our visit.

“Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly receptionists who helped check us in and sent us off in the direction of the best bars in the city.

“The self-catering apartments were spacious and had everything we could possibly need!

“Comfortable beds, ensuite shower room, kitchenettes, sofas, TVs, dining tables – what more could you want?!

“One great thing about Roomzzz is that you have a grab-and-go breakfast included. This is where you pick up your morning coffee and croissant on your way out to your next stag activity.

“As coffee lovers, having a coffee machine open 24/7 and FREE throughout our stay was an absolute dream.

“Although this accommodation is just on the outskirts of the centre, you are still very close to the main streets (a 5-minute Uber ride away).”

How Easy Was it to Get Around?🚦

“Really, really easy!

“A lot of the city is walkable, but if you need to go a bit further, there are Ubers everywhere, so you don’t need to worry too much about faffing about with public transport.”

What is an Activity You Must Try in Leeds?⚽

Our Leeds go karting site is outstanding!

“The staff were great fun and they even went through our stats and gave us tips for how to improve for our next round.

“You can take it as seriously or as you like, but we’d highly recommend it as a way to spend a few hours before another big night out.”

Where to Eat & Drink in Leeds🍔

drinks

This is the best part about going to Leeds!

“There are so many hidden gems, and you will always find something that pleases everyone.

“If you head to Call Lane you will find plenty of awesome bars for your group – it is by far one of the most well-known party streets.

“Similarly, Merrion Street is also great fun. It is filled with more alternative, indie bars and restaurants, including Mean Eyed Cat which is the home to the legendary “roll the dice” game (roll a six and you get your round FREE!).

“Greek Street is home to some cracking cocktail bars and is always a busy and buzzing nightlife spot, too.

“In terms of dining in Leeds, there are tons of options. Our top recommendation would be heading to Trinity Kitchen (27 Albion St, Leeds LS1 5ER).

“This is essentially a large dining hall with loads of vendors, so it is the best place for groups as there will always be something for everyone.”

Top Bar Reccommendations🍻

  • Mean Eyed Cat – 14 Merrion St, Leeds LS1 6PQ
  • Pixel Bar – 25 Great George St, Leeds LS1 3AL
