Where to Go on Your Bristol Stag Night

King Street

This central pedestrianised street has pubs running down both sides with benches spilling out into them so you can enjoy a pint in the summer sun. Plenty of the pubs serve food, too.

St Nicholas Street

A short five-minute walk from King Street, you'll find St Nicholas Street which has a range of pubs plus both independent and chain bars. This place feeds into Clare Street which also has some restaurants and boozers.

Park Street

This hefty hill has a range of slightly more upmarket cocktail bars running up either side, with a few bars situated at the top. It's pretty steep, though. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Harbourside & Millenium Square

If you take a loop of the harbour, you'll find several pubs and eateries en route. You could even buy a beer and sit out if it's sunny. Millennium Square and the nearby area has a load of stag-friendly bars, plus there are clubs like PRZYM and Popworld nearby.

Gloucester Road & Stokes Croft

From the Bear Pit (not a literal pit of bears, fyi) following the A38 north, you'll find a load of cracking pubs, bars and places to eat. It's a bit more of a boho, hipster vibe, but always good fun.

Top 10 Bristol Pubs, Bars & Clubs

The Old Duke

With benches that spill out onto the cobbled street, the Old Duke is a great place to enjoy a few pints in the sun. King Street also boasts a load of other stag-friendly bars, so you won't be short of places to go.

Where: 45 King St, Bristol, BS1 4ER

Walkabout

Not far from King Street, this Aussie-themed sports bar transforms into a bouncing club in the evening. Open until 1 am on Friday and 2 am on Saturday, it's primed and ready for your late-night party.

Where: 40 Corn St, Bristol, BS1 1HQ

Kongs of King Street

If you're a fan of craft beers; live music; and retro games like Pacman, Donkey Kong and Mortal Combat; Kongs is a great place to head. Open until 3 am on a Friday and Saturday, you won't have to cut your night short here.

Where: 13-15 King St, Bristol, BS1 4EF

BrewDog

Round the corner from King Street, you'll find the nation's favourite craft beer chain, BrewDog. The beauty of BrewDog is that you know what you're getting. Good food, good booze and good vibes across the board.

Where: 58 Baldwin St, Bristol, BS1 1QW

Par 59

Located Harbourside, Par 59 is a great addition to the Bristol nightlife scene. Challenge the lads to a round of mini golf as you separate the Tigers from the terrible putters. They also have augmented-reality darts and shuffleboard, so there's plenty to sink your teeth into.

Where: Unit 3B, 11 Millennium Promenade, Bristol, BS1 5SZ

Bristol Rum Distillery

If you have the energy to get to the top of the big hill that is Park Street, you will be rewarded with this cracking rum bar. Boasting 2 bars and over 150 rum cocktails, you and the boys will be spoilt for choice. A must for rum lovers.

Where: 87-89 Park St, Bristol, BS1 5PW

Zerodegrees

Another place that's slightly higher up, but if you're willing to clamber the Christmas Steps, you'll find Zerodegrees and all their pizza and microbrewery goodness. Well worth the stomp, if you ask us.

Where: 53 Colston St, Bristol, BS1 5BA

Pitcher & Piano

Located right on the Harbourside, just minutes from King Street, you'll find Pitcher & Piano. From food and drink to full-blown bottomless brunches, it's a great place to swing by for a cocktail and a bite.

Where: Canon's Rd, Bristol, BS1 5UH

Be At One

Slightly out of the way from the centre, but if you happen to be in Clifton, Be At One is a great stag-friendly option. Loud, lively and nothing short of legendary, you know what you're getting in these bouncing bars.

Where: 55 Queens Rd, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1QQ

The Cocktail Club

Boasting three separate rooms, a heated terrace and a cracking selection of cocktails, this place is a good starter bar before heading to the club. They're open til 3 on the weekends, though, so you can spend all night here if you please.

Where: 37-39 Corn St, Bristol, BS1 1HT

If our top 10 wasn't enough for you, we have a list of 14 of the best bars in Bristol for a stag do in 2025 with everything you could need to know like:

  • Do they show live sports?
  • Do they allow fancy dress?
  • Do they have a beer garden?
  • Are they a cracking place for a pint?

We also have a rundown of the 12 best Bristol nightclubs for when you're ready to throw some of those outrageous shapes and party through 'til the early hours.

The Best Time to Go

According to our stats for 2023, 66% head for their weekends between March and July, with the majority of groups going out in June.

Why's that time so popular?

Well, with most weddings taking place in the summer months, March-July gives stags ample time to recover from their weekend before the big day.

Plus, this time of year, the weather's picking up and beer gardens are starting to get busy.

Winner.

How Long Do People Go For?

Last year, 71% of our groups went for 3 days (2 nights), which, if you ask us, is the perfect amount of time.

You'll be able to take on some cracking activities, see the best of the city, check out the best bars, and give the groom a legendary send-off without breaking the bank or getting sick of each other's company.

Ideal.

How Soon Do People Book?

Guys heading to Bristol in 2023, on average, booked 4 months before they went (or 135 days if we're being exact).

This was two weeks more than the average, according to our end-of-year stats.

We wouldn't recommend leaving it any later than that as you run the risk of the best accommodation and activity time slots getting booked up.

Where to Stay in Bristol

From city centre hotels to some cracking houses on the outskirts of town, we have a range of Bristol stag accommodation to suit all groups.

We even have a load of glamping options if you and the boys want to do something really different.

Hotel availability is usually decent, but we'd advise those looking at renting a house for the weekend to enquire and pay their deposit as soon as possible because if someone else beats you to it, it's gone for good.
