🔥 Top 10 Ideas in Lisbon for 2025
Party Bike
This is how you sightsee, gents. Forget a boring bus tour, you and the boys will jump aboard your own party bike and take to the mean streets of Lisbon powered by unlimited (yes, unlimited) beer! What's not to love?!
Go Karting
Go wheel-to-wheel on this massive 1,270-metre outdoor track as you hit speeds of up to 45 mph. The track is 10 metres wide, too, so you'll have plenty of space to lap the groom... repeatedly!
Bubble Football
If you've never heard, seen or taken part in Bubble Football, now's your chance. You and the boys will have your whole upper bodies encased in a bubble suit as you try and let your fancy footwork do the talking. Let's bounce!
Surfing
Get picked up from your hotel and head straight to the sun-soaked Carcevelos Beach for a 90-minute surf session. This place is considered one of the best surf beaches in the world, so suit up and show the Atlantic who's boss.
Paintballing
What's a stag do without a little bit of paintball? A sad do, that's what! You'll be kitted out with all the gear, including semi-automatic weapons, as you split into teams and attempt to paint your opponents seven shades of stag.
Escape Room
Escape games are a great way to get everyone's slightly hungover brains into gear. You and the boys will be locked in a room for an hour, and the only way to break free is to complete the challenges in front of you. Do you have what it takes or will you be trapped forever?!
Boat Charter with BBQ & Beers
Take to the seas aboard your own private boat charter as you blast the tunes and enjoy a BBQ and beers in the sun. This is how you stag do Lisbon-style, gents, and this activity is guaranteed to be a hit with the rest of the lads.
Paddleboarding
Embark on an hour-long paddleboarding session as you attempt to stand upright without taking the plunge. Your professional instructor will be on hand to give tips and they'll also referee a load of games and races.
Go Cars
Tour the city in style as you jump into your miniature Go Cars and zoom about Lisbon. You get 90 minutes to do as you please and, trust us, you'll certainly be the centre of attention in your little yellow roadsters.
Estadio Da Luz Stadium Tour
If the groom is a big footy fan, a tour of Benfica's stadium should be high on the to-do list. Home to the two-time European Cup winners, it's a true footballing cathedral and you'll get to see it in all its glory on your 90-minute visit.

Lisbon Stag Activities
Sun, Super Bock and wall-to-wall stag action... gents, welcome to Lisbon!
Yes, the Portuguese capital is, dare we say it, an underappreciated stag city with so much to offer.
Boasting 2 football teams (Sporting and Benfica), more than 30 activities and nightlife options, plus the fact that it's pretty cheap compared to a lot of European capital cities, this place has a lot going for it.
Check out our Lisbon stag do ideas above and send us a free enquiry to get the stag planning started - we'll put together a quote for you and send you a price over ASAP (usually within 24 hours).
And be sure to sidestep a lot of hassle by booking your Lisbon stag accommodation with StagWeb. We've partnered with some of the best stag-friendly stays in the city, to bring you one of the best selections out there.
In 2023, Lisbon was our 3rd most popular European destination behind Benidorm and Barcelona, so it's really rising the ranks as a top choice for stags heading abroad.
Is Lisbon Right for Your Group?
With all the benefits of a capital city, with the added bonus of scorching sunshine, it's hard to find any faults with Lisbon.
It's not far to fly to. It's relatively cheap compared to other European capitals. It's packed with loads of activities to keep you occupied.
It's got a bouncing party scene...

Where to Go on Your Lisbon Stag Night
Bairro Alto
Bairro Alto is Lisbon's main drinking hub. Located fairly centrally, this district is a maze of side streets packed full of bars, pubs, tapas, restaurants and a whole lot more.
Principe Real
Merging into the northern section of Bairro Alto is the Principe Real district which also has its fair share of bars, cafés, and eateries.
Pink Street
Pink Street is the nickname of Rua Nova do Carvalho which has a - you guessed it - pink street. Located in the Cais do Sodre neighbourhood, just a ten-minute walk from Bairro Alto, it's definitely worth checking out one evening.
Doca de Santo Amaro
With a view of the yachts moored in the marina, this area boasts a load of bars and restaurants for a chilled evening out. It's about a twenty-minute drive west of the centre, so bear that in mind.
Top Lisbon Pubs, Bars & Clubs
🍺Lisboa Rio
The self-professed 'most distinguished club in the city', this is where some of Lisbon's coolest party people come to let loose! There are two dance floors both pumping out different tunes, so you can find the one that suits you.
Where: Cais Gas 7, 1200-109
🍺Groove Bar
Located in the party district of Barrio Alto, Groove Bar is a great place for a pint-stop when you're on a crawl through the city. It's open until 3 am on the weekends, so you can come here early and stay until late.
Where: R. da Rosa 148, 1200-211
🍺O'Gilins Irish Pub
There's a reason Irish pubs are everywhere... the Irish know how to party! This place lacks pretension and is a great place for a few pints, plus it turns into a cracking live music joint in the evenings.
Where: R. dos Remolares 8, 1200-371
🍺The V Rooftop Bar
Lisbon is a stunning city and the best way to see it is atop a rooftop bar whilst you're sinking a few refreshing drinks. V Rooftop Bar is unreal, gents!
Where: R. Rodrigo da Fonseca 2, 1250-191
🍺Lust in Rio
Right by the river, Lust in Rio is iconic. This place is open until 6 am and has two dance floors to choose from, so it's one for serious partiers only. They often have international DJs hitting the decks, so you're bound to have a belting night out here.
Where: R. da Cintura do Porto de Lisboa, 1200-109
🍺Pensão Amor
This place is pretty quirky but well worth a visit. If you're in the mood for cocktails, you need look no further than Pensão Amor.
Where: R. do Alecrim 19, 1200-292
🍺Dock's Club
This place pops off. Expect hip-hop and RnB, and a lively atmosphere from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. Remember that the party starts late and finishes later in Lisbon. There are six bars to keep you full of dancing juice.

🍺British Bar Lisboa
A sublime bar that's been plying Lisbon with boozy refreshments for over 100 years. From live footy to karaoke nights, there's always something going on!
Where: R. Bernadino Costa 52, 1200-052
The Best Time to Go
Whilst we had stag groups heading out as early as February in 2023, most stags heading to Lisbon last year went in May and June (67%). Why then?
Well, the temperature will have tipped into the twenties by then, the city will start to liven up with like-minded party people, plus you won't have the price hikes of the school holidays to worry about.
With wedding season occurring in August and September, it also gives enough time for the guys to recover in time for the big day.
How Long Do People Go For?
According to our stats for last year, 79% of groups going to Lisbon with StagWeb went for 3-4 days (2-3 nights).
2 nights might not sound like enough time to really explore Lisbon, but it's so close that it's really quick to fly to, plus three days will give you enough time to see the sights and enjoy a few nights out for sure.
How Soon Do People Book?
Last year, on average, stags booked 82 days (nearly three months) before their event date.
Considering the average for all destinations is 4 months (including for places like Bournemouth and Bristol), three months is cutting it fine.
For the cheapest flights, best accommodation, and greatest activities, you really should be booking as early as possible to secure the best availability and the best deals.
Where to Stay in Lisbon
From top hotels to budget-friendly stays, spacious apartments to city centre rooms, we have a great range of stag-friendly Lisbon accommodation ready to book.
Whilst you might find cheap deals booking somewhere slightly out of town, this can be counter-productive as you'll find yourselves splashing the cash on taxis just to get to where the party's at.
Our advice would be to get somewhere central, preferably walking distance from the nights out of Bairro Alto, and save yourselves a load of hassle.
Best Lisbon accommodation options
- Budget option - Golden Tram Hostel
- Upgrade option - Pestana CR7 Lisboa
- Self-catering option - City Stays Cais Sodre Apartments
What to Do in Lisbon
As well as checking out the local bars and soaking up some much-needed sun, we have over 30 Lisbon stag do ideas for you to dive headfirst into.
From stag party classics to a range of coastal activities, you have a better choice here than a lot of capital cities in Europe.
Have a scroll through and find the ones that suit your group.
Things to See in Lisbon
Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara
Located in Bairro Alto, the main drinking hub, is this cracking viewing platform where you can snap a squad photo in front of the iconic Lisbon rooftops.
TimeOut Market
A stag army marches on its stomach and the TimeOut Market is the place to head to load up on some traditional Portuguese and international bites. TimeOut Market is a giant food hall and a must-visit in our eyes.
Estadio Da Luz
Home to S.L. Benfica, footy fans should take a tour around the iconic ground. The Estadio Da Luz translates to Stadium of Light in English, but the Portuguese giants have enjoyed much more success than Sunderland who share the same stadium name.
How to Get to Lisbon...
What Airport to Fly To...
Many major UK airports offer direct flights to Lisbon (Humberto Delgado Airport). Be sure to check your nearest one and book early for the best prices and availability.
How Long is the Flight from the UK?
It depends on where you fly from, but flight times vary between about 2.5 hours and 3 hours.
Getting from the Airport to Lisbon...
Lisbon Airport is situated less than six miles from the centre of Lisbon, meaning you'll be in the city centre and partying in no time.
You can get to the centre of Lisbon from the airport via metro, bus, taxi or even private transfers arranged through StagWeb.
Metro - The LIS Metro Station is found at Terminal 1 and can get you to Lisbon in 20 minutes for as little as €1.80. São Sebastião is the last stop on the line, so check in advance whether this is close to where you need to go. Find more information and fares on the official Metro Lisboa website.
Bus/Shuttle Bus - Several buses can take you to the centre of Lisbon, but please be aware there is a maximum baggage allowance (50x40x20cm). If your baggage is bigger than this, you will need to book a shuttle bus in advance.
Taxi - There are a load of taxis queuing out the front of the airport and you can get to the centre for around €10-€18.
Private Transfers - Simply select 'Transfers' at the bottom of your Lisbon stag enquiry and we'll add them to your quote!
Tips On Getting Around Lisbon
Walking - If you're in and around the city centre, walking is your best option. Not only will you see the sights by strolling around, but everything is just a short wander away. Lisbon is quite hilly, though, so you may want to consider alternative transport options.
Tram - If you Google pictures of Lisbon, you will undoubtedly get photos with the famous yellow trams popping up. There are currently around five routes with over 50 stops, so you can bounce about the capital with ease. With tickets costing between €1-€3, it's a cost-effective way to get around.
Metro - Four different metro lines serve Lisbon (Yellow, Blue, Green and Red). You can pay by contactless, so it's a very hassle-free way of getting about the city.
Common Lisbon Stag Do FAQs
Is Lisbon good for a stag do?
Lisbon is a fantastic stag do destination as not only do you get all the benefits of a bouncing capital city (big nights out, plenty of sights to see, etc.), but it's also a lot more budget-friendly than many of its European counterparts and you're almost guaranteed good weather.
Is Lisbon Known for Partying?
With multiple districts like Bairro Alto and Pink Street to head to, you won't find it hard to find the best nights out. From bars to nightclubs, Fado houses (small restaurants boasting Portuguese cuisine and quite often live music) and more, there's plenty to sink your teeth into.
Where to go in Lisbon on a night out?
We recommend booking your stay close to the party district of Bairro Alto where you'll find more than 100 watering holes ready to host the celebrations.
Is Lisbon expensive for a night out?
Lisbon is one of the most well-priced European capitals out there, with a full meal and drink costing as little as €10, and it also boasts free admissions to some of the most popular club nights.
Is alcohol cheap in Lisbon?
Lisbon is famed for its affordability. Expect to pick up a beer from anywhere between €1-€4 euros. Obviously, be wary of tourist traps and expect to pay more in high-end bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Does Lisbon have a beach?
Lisbon is located on the coast, but it doesn't have a beach itself. Praia da Torre is one of the closest beaches, located a 17-mile drive away. A taxi will be able to get you from the centre of the city to the beach in around 40 minutes (traffic dependant).
