Our Edinburgh Stag Reviews
StagWeb exceeded our expectations. The events were amazing and well put together. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and both of our Event Managers were quick to respond and very helpful. Even when there was a problem they addressed it quickly. Our weekend fell on a bank holiday and an emergency contact was still able to address our issue. We have no complaints and would book again 100%.
Jagraj Kalsi
Great place to organise a stag do with! They made it very easy from the beginning to choose a location, events and accommodation. I also liked how all members of the group were able to make payments towards the event without me being responsible for collecting from everyone and then paying. If I need to organise something like that again I will definitely do it through StagWeb!
Martin Orr
StagWeb were outstanding from start to finish and took all the concerns about arranging the right events for an extra special stag weekend. The range of events and the support for how to arrange them was exceptional and the whole experience was 5-star wall to wall. Thanks, StagWeb you helped me make the Stag's weekend truly memorable.
Jamie Smith
What a fantastic weekend and the stag absolutely loved it. The website was so easy to use, the activities we did (clay pigeon shooting, footgolf, bubble football, tag archery and go karting) were fantastic fun, with each one absolutely perfect for a stag group, thanks to some brilliant instructors and locations. Would 100% book again.
Guy Bevan-Thomas
Great selection of destinations and activities! Great communication from point of quotes to booking. Responsible booking management and friendly service from Vicki who couldn't have done anything more to accommodate my queries and requests.
Daniel McGonigle
As the organiser, I felt the pressure of making sure everyone was happy but also that things went to plan. The assistance and flexibility of the StagWeb team ensured it all went smoothly and unlike other stags I've arranged. I actually got to enjoy myself knowing StagWeb had taken care of everything.
Anthony Craig
Accommodating service with swift replies and responses helps to organise the stag. Thank you!

🔥 Top 10 Ideas in Edinburgh for 2025
Highland Games
Does it get more Scottish than the Highland Games? Don your kilts and get ready for some hilarious sporting challenges as you and the boys battle it out across a tug 'o' war, bagpipe playing, the caber toss and a whole lot more.
Rage Buggies
Jump in these ferocious buggies and get ready to chew up and spit out any terrain that's put in front of them. You and the boys will hit speeds of up to 60 mph as you carve up 80 acres of woodlands, dirt tracks, jumps and more.
Clay Shooting
Arm yourselves with the Beretta 12-bore shotguns provided and take on 25 clays each at one of Scotland's leading shooting sites. Be sure to dissect all the action in the on-site bar afterwards and dish out prizes for the winners (and forfeits for the losers).
Whitewater Rafting
Now, obviously, they don't have whitewater rafting right in the centre of Edinburgh, so you do need to travel... but it's more than worth the trip. You and the boys will tackle grade 2-3 rapids, plus you'll take on a grade 4 rapid that includes a 20-foot drop.
Whisky Tour
What's a stag celebration in Edinburgh without a drop of Scotch whisky?! A sad stag celebration, that's what! Enjoy an hour-long interactive distillery tour which includes a whisky tasting glass to take away with you.
Bubble Football
This is football bounced on its head and volleyed into the top corner! Encased in big bubble suits, you and the boys will go toe-to-toe across a 60-minute match to see who emerges champions. A good chance to smash the groom into Row-Z!
Quad Biking
50-acre tracks. 125cc Yamaha quads. 40 mph. 1 legendary stag activity. Our Edinburgh quad biking activity is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with Mother Nature as you tear about the countryside on some grizzly four-wheeled beasts.
Go Karting
F1 fans will love this one. With practice and qualifying laps to determine your grid positions, you and the boys can finally battle it out to see who the best (and worst) driver is in the group. The 200cc Rimo Evo 5 karts hit speeds of up to 40 mph.
Escape Room
Split your group into teams and take on two separate rooms (The Station and The Lab) as you try and escape with your freedom. You'll have 60 minutes to put your (possibly hungover) brains to the test and get out, otherwise, it's game over... permanently!
Golf, Grub & Drinks
Exactly as the name suggests - golf, grub, drinks, bosh! You'll get your golf on as you play 9 holes before settling down at the iconic Golf Tavern for drinks and a meal. There are 3 package upgrades available.

🍺Club Tropicana
This '80s nightclub is always a winner (unless you hate the eighties, but who in their right mind does?!). Sadly drinks aren't free here, but there are deals to be had. It's located just to the west of the Edinburgh Castle.
Where: 23 Lothian Rd, EH1 2DJ
🍺Eastside
This New York-inspired dive bar is legendary. Open seven days a week, they simply do not stop partying. It's right in the heart of the New Town, so you won't have to go far to get here.
Where: 51a George St, EH2 2HT
🍺Biddy Mulligans
Why does every city have an Irish bar? Because the Irish know their way around a brilliant boozer, that's why! Head to their Grassmarket venue for a creamy pint of Guinness and some good craic!
Where: 94-96 Grassmarket, EH1 2JR
🍺The Golf Tavern
If your vibe is an old-time pub with delicious ales and a great atmosphere, you must check out the Golf Tavern. Dating back to 1456, this place has been quenching the thirst of party legends for nearly 600 years.
Where: 30-31 Wright's Houses, EH10 4HR
🍺Revolution
Revolution bars know how to party. OK, they're a chain, but they're very stag-friendly and will help you get the celebrations in gear. Not a bad option at all.
Where: 30a Chalmers St, EH1 1HU
🍺Pilgrim Bar
Decked out with old suitcases, 1930s cinema seats and denim sofas, this place isn't your ordinary bar. Oh no, it pulls out all the stops, from the décor to the food to the booze and everything else in between.
Where: 3 Robertson's Cl, EH1 1LY
🍺Frankenstein
Set in an old church and spread over three floors, Frankenstein's has a monstrous drinks menu and a frighteningly good party vibe. If you want somewhere unique, it doesn't get much better than this.
Where: 26 George IV Bridge, EH1 1EN
🍺Monkey Barrel
Edinburgh is the home of the Fringe Festival, so it stands to reason that they'd have one of the best comedy clubs in the country. Enjoy some side-splitting action as you kick back with a pint and a hot dog.

The Best Time to Go
The beauty of Edinburgh is that it's great to visit all year round.
In 2023, we had stags heading up to the city throughout the year, but 58% of our groups went between May and August.
Why then?
Well, summer is prime wedding time, so it's traditional to have the stag a few months before the big day.
Plus, Edinburgh is just a pretty cool place to be when the sun's shining.
How Long Do People Go For?
69% of the stag groups that booked with StagWeb for 2023 opted for 2 or more nights in Edinburgh.
This gives you enough time to do it all. We're talking about the sights, the pubs, and the awesome activities on offer.
We wouldn't really recommend less than two nights, unless you live locally, as you won't really get to scratch the surface of this incredible city.
How Soon Do People Book?
The average stag in 2023 booked their Edinburgh trip 4 months before they went (129 days).
According to our end-of-year stats, the average for all destinations in 2023 was 122 days, so guys heading to Edinburgh were pretty bang on the money.
If you're reading this and you're coming close to the 4-month mark, we'd highly recommend booking ASAP.
The later you leave things, the more likely the options you want will be booked up.
Get organised and get planning now.

Edinburgh's most iconic landmark. It's pretty central and at the top of a big hill, so you'll struggle to miss it.
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Situated at the western end of the Royal Mile, this is the King's official gaff when he's heading up to Scotland.
Arthur's Seat
If you and the boys are feeling fit (or want to walk off those hangovers), head to the top of Arthur's Seat for panoramic views of the city. A great photo opp to prove you didn't spend all weekend in those Royal Mile pubs.
Royal Mile
The famous street lined with some of the best boozers in the city.
National Museum of Scotland
For any guys looking for a bit of history and heritage, the National Museum of Scotland is a great way to spend a few hours.
Calton Hill
Another spot which is a great vantage point for Edinburgh's skyline.
How to Get to Edinburgh...

Train - Edinburgh Waverley Train Station is situated slap-bang in the centre of the city. It's sandwiched between the Old Town and the New Town, just 0.3 miles from the Royal Mile and 0.5 miles from the famous Castle.
Visit Trainline to book your train tickets.
Car - If you're thinking about driving up, keep your Maps on so you stay on the best route. For context, it'll take about 7-8 hours to drive from London, 5-6 hours from Birmingham, and about 4-5 hours from Liverpool.
If your accommodation doesn't have parking, visit Parkopedia for the nearest parking spots.
Plane - Edinburgh Airport is located just 8 miles from the centre of the city, so getting to and from it is a breeze. Be sure to check in advance, but you can get flights from the majority of UK airports.
One of the easiest ways to get to the city centre is to get a tram from the airport.
There are also plenty of other transport options for you to choose from.
Tips On Getting Around Edinburgh
Walking - OK, there's the odd steep hill, but as capital cities go, Edinburgh is surprisingly compact and easy to walk around.
Buses - Buses are an easy, reliable, and cost-effective way to get around the city. Be sure to plan your routes in advance to save the faff on the day.
Tram - From Edinburgh Airport in the west to Newhaven in the east, the tram hits over 20 stops, including St Andrew Square (for Edinburgh Waverley Train Station), Murrayfield Stadium, Princes Street and more. Plan your journey and book tram tickets in advance.

Common Edinburgh Stag Do FAQs
Is Edinburgh good for a stag do?
Edinburgh is a great destination for a stag do. Boasting a range of stag activities to take on - from classics like Bubble Football to the unique and chaotic Highland Games - plus a load of sights to see, you won't be short of options. It's also lively throughout the year, so you won't be confined to a summer celebration.
Is Edinburgh walkable?
Edinburgh is most definitely a walkable city. Start from the Castle and walk down to the central pubs where you can get down to business tasting some traditional scotch whisky!
Where can I go drinking in Edinburgh?
If you're keen on a booze-filled adventure, then Edinburgh will 100% answer your calls. Make sure to visit Rose Street (EH2 postcode), which is famous for its many bars and pubs that are happy to accept stag walk-ins until late. Another great option is Grassmarket Street (EH1 2HY) which is home to many affordable pub houses serving six-pint towers and Belgian pilsners. We actually have a rundown of the best bars for stag do in Edinburgh for 2025 so you can map out all the best hotspots for your big night out.
What's the easiest way to get to Edinburgh from London?
You can take an hour-long flight from London to Edinburgh, which is the fastest and most convenient mode of transport. Otherwise, prepare to spend around 4.5 hours on a train - it's a bit more money, but with more sustainability in mind.
What is Edinburgh famous for?
From the iconic castle to the Scotch whisky, the Fringe Festival to the Royal Mile, there is plenty on offer in Edinburgh for a group of stags. In between all those pint and haggis stops, be sure to check out the best of the Scottish capital while you're there.
How Many Activities Do Stags Heading to Edinburgh Usually Book?
That depends on what you're doing, where you're going, how important that big night out is, etc.
For example, our epic Edinburgh white water rafting experience is one of the best in the UK, but it isn't located in central Edinburgh. Transfers can take between 2 and 2.5 hours, so you'll need to factor this in (our Destination Specialist will help you with all that!).
If all of your Edinburgh stag activities are pretty central, we'd still recommend no more than three in a day.
Any more than that and you're going to struggle to fit anything else in.

Gents... Edinburgh is a capital city, of course it's a party town. From whisky distillery tours to cracking pubs and bouncing nightclubs, you'll have endless opportunities to kickstart the party.
What time do nightclubs shut in Edinburgh?
Most nightclubs in Edinburgh open around 10-11 PM and close at 3 am. Be sure to check beforehand, so you're in the loop.
